Día 9 de octubre

Ayer hacia las 6pm cuando fuimos a cenar (ya era de noche), vimos el eclipse casi total de Luna. A las 9pm ya estábamos recogidos.

Yesterday around 6pm when we went to dinner (it was already night), we saw the almost total eclipse of Luna. At 9pm we were already in bed.

 Esta mañana despegaron los autogiros a las 5:15am para cubrir una jornada larga y calurosa.
La primera etapa (139km) fue la más llevadera, pues en esas tempranas horas, el aire está muy estable. Del paisaje, poco que destacar, planicies interminables de vegetación rala, ganado agrupado en torno a charcas y abrevaderos, y multitud de termiteros

Autogyros took off this morning at 5:15 am to cover a long and hot day.
The first stage (139km) was the most bearable, because in those early hours, the still fresh air is very stable. On the landscape, little to highlight, endless plains of sparse vegetation, cattle grouped around ponds and watering holes, and a multitude of termite mounds

En  Myroodah Station, otra  explotación ganadera, hicimos el primer repostaje (como de costumbre,no vimos a nadie).

At Myroodah Station, another livestock farm, we did the first refueling (as usual, we didn't see anyone).

En La Grange Bay, despues de 276km, hicimos el segundo autorrepostaje. La existencia en el aeródromo de un hangar-cobertizo hizo más llevadera la faena de rellenar los depósitos.

At La Grange Bay, after 276km, we did the second auto refueling. The existence at the aerodrome of a hangar-shed made the task of filling the tanks more bearable.

 La última etapa de 156km nos llevaría costeando hasta Sandfire Roadhouse, final de la jornada.
Pensamos que la proximidad al mar suavizaría las temperaturas y que el aire estaría menos turbulento. Nada de eso, muchísimo calor y muchas turbulencias. Eso sí, el panorama costero muy bonito.
The last 156km stage would take us along the coast to the Sandfire Roadhouse, the end of the day.
We think that proximity to the sea would soften temperatures and that the air would be less turbulent. None of that, a lot of heat and a lot of turbulence. Of course, the coastal panorama was very beautiful.
