Bindoon al amanecer (Bindoon at sunrise) |
On Monday the 20th we left Bindoon at dawn. The morning was very cool and sunny, but within a few kilometers the cloudiness was increasing. As they seemed low clouds we opted in principle to pass them over, but as the thickness and density of clouds increased, we changed our mind. With the sky overcast and threatening rain we covered the 202km of the first stage to Corrigin.

Pusimos las fundas a los autogiros y nos fuimos caminando al pueblo a esperar que el tiempo mejorara.
In Corrigin we stopped just enough to fill deposits. From there a fine rain began to baptize us, which little by little became worrisome showers. There was a moment when things got too serious and we decided to land at Newdegate, an unforeseen stopover. We had traveled 154km from Corrigin.
We put the covers to the autogyros and we went walking to the town to wait for the weather to improve.

Around two in the afternoon the improvement was remarkable. Stormy squalls followed but well dispersed and trimmed. At three thirty we take off to cover 294km to Myrup. The fresh and very stable air, the stormy areas easy to dodge, and a very favorable tailwind led us to Myrup in just over two hours, at an average of 142km/h
