Aeródromo de Somersby

A las 7:15am hora local iniciamos en Somersby (NSW) la primera jornada del raid (cada jornada estará dividida en dos etapas de aproximadamente 250km cada una).

At 7:15 am local time we start in Somersby (NSW) the first day of the raid (each flight day will be divided into two stages of approximately 250km each)

En el campo de Gloucester esperando que escampe (At Gloucester airfield waiting for the weather to improve)

En la primera etapa salimos con buen tiempo, pero cuando llevábamos unos 130km recorridos nos topamos con mucha nubosidad. Comenzó a chubasquear y tuvimos que posarnos en un campo (Gloucester) a esperar que el tiempo mejorara. En una hora salimos de nuevo para llegar a Camden Haven  donde esperaba la furgo para hacer el repostaje de combustible.

In the first stage we left with good weather, but when we had traveled about 130km we ran into a lot of cloudiness. It started to rain and we had to land at an airfield (Gloucester) to wait for the weather to improve. In an hour we took off again to reach Camden Haven where the van was waiting to refuel.

Camden Haven, un campo de hierba bellísimo

La segunda etapa la hicimos en su mayor parte a lo largo de la costa. Playas solitarias interminables muy bonitas. En este tramo tuvimos un viento de cola muy favorable, pues cubrimos 240km en 1h49min. En el campo de llegada (South Grafton) hacía mucho viento.

We did most of the second stage along the coast. Lonely and very beautiful long beaches. In this section we had a very favorable tail wind, which allowed us to do 240km in 1h49min. In the arrival field (South Grafton) it was very windy.
